X is for Xecotcovach

From Mayan mythology, Xecotcovach is one of four birds sent to punish the Wooden Men - the first humans - for disrespecting the gods and animals. Each bird focused on different parts of the Wooden Mens' bodies to torment. Xecotcovach's focuses were the face and the eyes, gouging them with it's beak and claws and ripping them out.
