R is for Ropen

The Ropen is considered a cryptid by many, but on the island it's from, New Guinea, it's part of the local folklore. The natives of New Guinea consider it something like a man, but also a spirt. Ropen are said to feed on fish, but have been seen feeding on corpses. It's described as having teeth in it's beak, and as giving off a light. It's believed they live in the caves in a local volcano and only comes out at night to hunt.
